Petrol has a different composition than diesel and will not combust properly in a diesel engine. This can result in a variety of problems, including engine failure. If you tried to run a diesel engine on only pure petrol it's unlikley to start or run at all. The fuel injectors will also be damaged by the petrol, as it does not have the lubricating properties of diesel. The fuel pump could also be affected, as petrol is a solvent striping the lubrication that diesel provides. Depending on the concertration level of petrol in diesel, the engine might run, but it will run poorly and could cause a lot of damage to the fuel system components. Petrol will not combust as efficiently as diesel, so it will put a lot of strain on the engine, leading to increased wear and tear. This could also result in a build-up of carbon deposits and sludge in the engine, causing further problems. This is because petrol is highly combustible and when it is put into a diesel engine, it can cause an extreme build-up of pressure that can damage the engine.
Wrong Fuel - List Of Probolems & Symptoms
1. Engine won't turn back on - petrol is unable to combust properly, you may have noticed a lack of power to the engine.
2. Malfunctioning fuel pump - petrol is a lot lighter than diesel causing friction, so it can easily cause the fuel pump to malfunction.
3. Poor engine performance - petrol will not combust as efficiently as diesel, so it will put a lot of strain on the engine, leading to increased wear.
4. Carbon deposits - the inefficient combustion of petrol can cause a build-up of carbon deposits in the engine, also in the EGR and or DPF .
5. Complete engine failure - petrol is highly combustible and when it is put into a diesel engine, it can cause an extreme build-up of pressure.
While some people have had entire engine replacements due to adding the wrong fuel in their car, thankfully that's not the most common senario, here is a couple more issue's caused from vehicle's being driven with the wrong fuel, it's also worth noting that we are able to successfully recover close to 99% of both petrol in diesel and diesel in petrol cars.
1. Poor Combustion – The ignition and combustion of petrol in a diesel will lead to poor performance and increased fuel consumption.
2. Carbon Buildup – Petrol in a diesel engine can cause carbon buildup and clogged injectors, resulting in poor performance and reduced fuel efficiency.
3. Increased Emissions – Using petrol in a diesel engine can cause increased emissions due to the poor combustion of petrol.
4. Increased Fuel Consumption – Using petrol in a diesel engine can lead to increased fuel consumption, as petrol is a less efficient fuel than diesel.

I had a huge problem when I filled up my Ford Ranger with the wrong fuel. I had put petrol in my diesel engine and had driven it for a few Kilometers until it finally cut out. I was so embarrassed and ashamed and I was worried that it was going to cost me a lot of money to to get it fixed. I called straight away and I was so relieved when they promised to get my car running again without any costly repairs, they sent a technician out to my location. He was so friendly and professional, he drained the wrong fuel and then refilled it with the correct fuel. I am so grateful to you for coming to the rescue. Not only did they save me money but they also saved me a lot of stress and embarrassment. I would highly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

My name is Lisa Sparks and I recently had a terrifying experience when I mistakenly put petrol in my Toyota Landcruiser Prado. I had just finished filling up at the petrol station and was driving home when I noticed that my vehicle was starting to lose power. I immediately realised that I had put the wrong fuel in the car and I was absolutely horrified. I had no idea what to do and was starting to panic. Fortunately, I remembered a friend had recently used a fuel draining service and I managed to get in touch with them. They were able to send a technician out to my location within the hour, which was a huge relief. The technician was really friendly and professional, and he was able to drain the petrol from my car quickly and efficiently. I was so relieved that the problem was fixed without any further damage. I'm so glad I called, as I'm sure the damage would have been far worse if I had left it and drove the car further. The service was fast, efficient and affordable, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who has the misfortune of putting the wrong fuel in their car. Thanks to their help I'm now back on the road in my Prado and feeling much more relaxed.

I recently had the misfortune of putting petrol in my Toyota Hilux instead of diesel. I was in a hurry and didn’t double-check the fuel type before leaving the service station. I drove home without a problem but the next day when I tried to start the car, it wouldn’t start. I was at a loss as to what to do, so I called the service station to see if they could help. To my surprise, they told me that it was indeed petrol that I had put in the car instead of diesel. I was so embarrassed and worried about the cost of repairs. I was even more worried that my car would never run again. Fortunately for me, these guys really helped me out, I’m so relieved that my car is now running smoothly again and I’m thankful for their excellent service and for helping me through this stressful and embarrassing time. I would highly recommend their services to anyone who has accidentally put the wrong fuel in their car.
